A couple months ago I decided to sponsor a child, something I have wanted to do for a long time. It is great to help someone in need who lives in poverty beyond what we could imagine and especially in today's world where there is a global food shortage etc... The little girl from Kenya who I sponsored had been waiting over a year to get sponsored and her birthday was only a few days from Logan's birthday and she was born the same year as him, so that's why I chose her. Hopefully her and her family will benefit greatly and we will change a life for the better (which I'm sure we will)!!

Froggy Cupcakes:

Ingredients:
11/2 cups flour7/8 cup caster sugar3 tablespoons butterpinch of salt3 teaspoons baking powder3 eggs1 teaspoon vanilla essence� cup milk3 tablespoons water
Icing:
1 tablespoon butter1 cup icing sugarLittle bit of hot waterGreen food colouringJelly jubes or similar sweets

Method:
Prepare a muffin tin by spraying with non-stick cooking spray.Beat the egg whites till frothy and then add the egg yolks and beat some more. Gradually add sugar and then vanilla. Heat butter, milk and water till butter is melted. Add flour, baking powder and salt to egg mixture and then add the milk mixture. Bake in a warm oven (200 �C) for about 10-15 minutes. To make the icing, soften the butter with a wooden spoon, then add the icing sugar. Add enough hot water to form a thick but spreadable mixture. Add green food colouring and spread cooled cakes with mixture. Decorate cakes with jelly jubes to represent eyes.

BPA in bottles banned

Since alot of baby bottles are banned now in Canada, I am going to try the new Foogo thermos baby sippy cup (I ordered it online). Here is a commercial for it:

It looks like a great new product. Anyways, also Avent bottles, etc. all contain BPA in bottles which can be toxic to babies. Most stores are now accepting the bottles in exchange for a gift card for their store etc (London Drugs, Zellers, Walmart etc.). You do not need a receipt for them. This is great since nobody wants to expose their children to these toxins. Anyways, this sippy cup had great reviews and looked good. Anyways, talk to you later.

Of course I have a wonderful family with three beautiful children, two boys ages 6 and 4 (Logan and Aaron) and a baby girl Erica who is 7 months old already (man how time flies). I can't believe it. I am a medical transcriptionist and work full time (but currently am on maternity leave) and my husband is just finished university and he has a computer science degree and is starting a new job soon. We shall see where this all takes us, but hopefully it is all good.

My absolute favorite website is frugalshopper.ca I have been a member for a few years now and started entering contests and getting freebies and I can't say it hasn't done me well. I have won three trips and various other smaller prizes and can't wait for the mail to arrive on a daily basis as you never know what might be in there (other than bills. . . . but who looks forward to those anyways). I have gotten a bunch of my family and friends involved now in frugal shopper and now they have tried entering contests etc. or getting freebies like me.
